README.TXT FOR DNP IDW500 SD RECOVERY UTILTIY APPLICATION v1.1.0 Release date: 2017-12 GENERAL INFORMATION The DNP SD Recovery (SDR) utility app is used to setup or repair the SD Wi-Fi camera card for the IDW500 ID Passport System. The utility can either repair the setup files on the SD card, and-or to set the ID of the card to match the IDW system. The ID of both the SD card and the IDW console must match for the system to operate properly. Refer to the IDW500 System User Manual for more complete instructions using the SD Recovery Utility. TECH TIP: The system ID must be set on the SD card whenever a new card is obtained, or when the SD card is repaired. Only the ID of the SD Wi-Fi card can be set or changed, the system ID of the IDW processor console is factory preset and cannot be changed. FUNCTIONS OVERVIEW There are two main modes to the SDR utility app: “REPAIR” the SD card will format and reapply the necessary files onto the SD Wi-Fi card. NOTE: after repairing the SD card, the SET ID function must be performed. “SET” the system ID on the card. The set function will allow the operator to change the SD card ID to match the IDW system console. OPERATING INSTRUCTOINS The SD Recovery utility must first be installed onto the target PC. Once the utility is installed and started, the application will present the function buttons to operate the utility. Choose the Function Repair or Set. Upon completion, use the Windows Eject function and remove the card from the PC. NOTE: When setting the system Wi-Fi ID on the SD camera card, enter ONLY the last two characters of the system ID e.g. “6d” in the utility window. Do not enter the fill ID name e.g. idPhoto_6d, nor the underscore character. The utility will automatically generate the full name. Carefully note the system ID number uses lower case alphabet, case matters. USAGE EXAMPLES for the system ID “idPhoto_6d” Good example ID Setting: * When the SD card ID of “6d” is entered in the utility window, the system ID will be set correctly. It will link with the IDW console and function properly. Examples for Bad ID setting: * When a SD card ID of “6D” is set on the SD card, the system will not link with the console, reset the card ID. * When the ID is set to “-6d” on the SD card, the system will not link with the console, reset the card ID. * When the ID is set to “idPhoto_6d” on the SD card, the card ID will be set to “idPhoto_idPhoto_6d”, the system will not link with the console, reset the card ID. TECH TIP: The IDW system ID can be viewed on the POST printout page, or a cellphone can be used to observe the Wi-Fi ID that is being broadcast by the IDW500 console. CHECKING THE SD CARD Ensure the IDW500 is powered up and idle. Insert the SD card into the camera, power up the camera. Wait for the Camera found message and sound to occur. * If Camera Found message appears on the console, the card is successfully setup. Shoot an ID photo, and send it to the console, and resume normal operations. * If the Camera Found message does not appear; Recheck the card ID that was set with the SDR utility and ensure it matches the console. NOTE on REPAIR PROCESS: During the Repair operation, the DOS box will appear and ask for input of the SD card name. No name is required. Press enter to leave blank or add any name you choose up to 11 characters, no special characters. REQUIREMENTS PC with Windows 7, 8.1, 10 PC with SD card reader/writer slot, internal or external Toshiba FlashAir WiFi card model W-03. NOTE: The IDW500 system and SD Recovery app is designed to be used only with a specific SD camera card. Wi-Fi SD cards from other manufacturers are not supported.
